Al Maidana is a UAE national contractor delivering engineering, procurement, construction and maintenance across the energy and water sectors of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. Since 2001 we have built, energised and maintained the networks that keep the city running — from 33 kV substations and underground cable systems to potable water mains and pumping stations.
We hold contracts awarded directly by TAQA Distribution — not only sub-contracts. That includes live-network maintenance, 11 kV reinforcement and substation earthing across the Central and Eastern regions.
Fifteen of our engineers, jointers and safety officers hold TAQA competency cards — including HV and LV permit receivers, a certified cable jointer, and a civil engineer authorised for live water-network tie-ins up to DN560.
Our own calibrated high-voltage laboratory — VLF, partial discharge, transformer turns ratio, Sverker relay testing — means commissioning is never subcontracted and never a scheduling risk.
Few contractors are prequalified on both sides of the TAQA scope. We self-perform civil, mechanical, electrical and control works, which removes interface risk on mixed infrastructure packages.

Ongoing Main contractor for the refurbishment and reinstatement of earthing systems across TAQA distribution substations, executed under permit on energised networks through to 2028.
Ongoing Long-term running agreement covering reinforcement of the 11 kV distribution network across two regions — cable installation, jointing, terminations and commissioning.
Ongoing Scheduled diagnostic testing and condition monitoring of primary and distribution substations, carried out with our own calibrated high-voltage test equipment.
Ongoing Water infrastructure works for the industrial zone's Phase 1E and 1F development, delivered as specialist sub-contractor to Desert Man Transporting & Contracting.
Ongoing Electrical infrastructure and street lighting across the ring roads and core services of a major residential community, as sub-contractor to Agility Contracting.
